Burnt Out!

So, if you have been reading my past few posts you can probably tell that I have been tired and a bit depressed. I have tried to snap myself out of it but with no such luck. My parents came to visit me this past weekend to help get me out of this slump. While their visit was a good one, I found myself just wanting to leave Ames with them. I am hoping to visit them soon at home one of these weekends. I need to get the hell outta dodge for awhile to try to keep my sanity.

I have also been thinking about spring break lately and where to go. I know that I don’t want to go home or to visit my family in Florida (like I did last year). I am thinking about venturing out East to Boston to visit my close friend Karla. She has been interning and living out there for about 2 months and is quite familiar with the city. This is the perfect opportunity to experience something new and exciting. Hopefully this trip will be refreshing and inspire me to keep on track to finish school.

I promise my next post will be a bit more happier lol.

Music Makes Everything Better

I know that I haven’t been posting lately but last week I was in a weird place personally (refer to past entry). Anywho, I am feeling much better and will probably post a weekend recap later tonight.

Recently, I got a email from my friend asking me about what’s on my iPod and I thought I would share with everyone that reads my blog. Here are the songs that I have been feelin’ lately:

Hip/Hop/RnB:

  1. Right Round – Flo Rida
  2. Bottle Pop – Pussycat Dolls Feat. Snoop
  3. I Hate This Part (Dave Aude Remix) – Pussycat Dolls
  4. Right Now (Na Na Na) Remix – Akon. Feat. Kat DeLuna
  5. Love Lockdown LMFAO Remix – Kanye West/ LMFAO
  6. Right Here (Departed) – Brandy feat. Darkchild

Reggeaton:

  1. Na de Na – Angel y Khriz
  2. Calabria 2008 – Enur feat. Natasja
  3. Krazy – Pitbull Feat. Lil Jon

Pop:

  1. LoveGame & Poker Face- Lady Gaga (Highly recommend the entire album)
  2. If You Seek Amy & Circus – Britney Spears
  3. Speakerphone, Like a Drug, & Megnetic Electric by Kylie Minogue
  4. Mind In the Gutter – Chris Crocker ( weird guy, but good song)
  5. Bossy – Lindsay Lohan ( An oldie but a goodie! )

Enjoy :D

My flame is nearly out . . .

Oh god, I need a vacation to rejuvenate my life. I think the last real vacation that I took was when I went Florida for spring break last year. I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately . . . its like it pains me to think about schoolwork let alone do it. Ugh I’m just in another one of my ruts. I wonder how long this one will last.

I just need some kind of spark to get back in the swing of things.

Time to Get Crackin . . .

So you remember those new year resolutions? Well, I haven’t exactly  started on accomplishing anyone of them except writing on this blog every so often. Oh but that will change today! So lets review what my resolutions are in the first place because . . .  well I have even forgotten what they were ;)

  1. Get to my goal weight (Ha, I haven’t started this one yet except I do plan on going to the gym soon!)
  2. Improve my GPA (umm . . . yeah this is still an uphill battle)
  3. Eat breakfast more often (I think I ate breakfast once during January and by that I mean a 11 a.m. bagel)
  4. Read more (actually, I have been reading alot more then I usually do. . . because of school :| )
  5. Write more (I do write more now then ever due to the blog)
  6. Learn more Spanish (Later. . .  later . . . way later. . .)

Damn. . .  this sucks. I have only really worked on writing and reading more. Oh well its only the first month. . . next month will be better . . . I hope.

Old Journals.

So I have decided to move all my past online journals here. These journals chronicle the end of my senior year of high school and the first two years of college. Pardon the many time gaps between the posts. This is due to going in and out of phases of disinterest with blogging.

Last night, I actually went through all of my posts on my old Xanga* (senior year + freshman Fall semester). I was surprised to find that not only were my posts a grammatical nightmare but that I was very naïve in my thinking. I used to think that college is the key to everything in life and that anyone that didn’t go to college or continue their education was on the wrong path.

While I think going to college was right for me, I know that for other people, college is just not in the cards and have other means to make a life for themselves. Hell, I have spent the last 4 years in college and still feel like I have learned nothing that will actually help me in life. Well that’s not true, I have learned al ot from my experiences here at ISU and feel that I have matured way beyond those days in, which I first started blogging. So that’s it for my lil reflection. I might have to come back and edit this post lol.

P.S. Xanga Archive is coming soon! Importing that shit is going to suck :/

Journey Back to the Underworld

Last Friday was a lazy day for me. I was a bit hung over from going out with my friend, Shelley, the night before and didn’t feel like getting much done. I stayed in bed most of the day but decided to get up around 1ish and get ready for the lackluster day. However, instead of going to my class, I opted to stay in and watch some TV (with good reason of course . . it was way to cold :P ).

Later in the day my roommate, Sam, and I ventured out into the cold to go see the newest installment of the Underworld series, Rise of the Lycans. I have always been a big fan of these movies and a sucker for vampire movies (lol, get it?!) so you can imagine how excited I was.

The film centers on the origins of the blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their one-time slaves and protectors, the Lycans. Being a fan, I already knew the story, as it was previously revealed in the first Underworld film. However, I was still very interested in seeing the story bought to life in this prequel.

Overall the movie was very good. I enjoyed it very much as did Sam. I think it might be my favorite out of the series. Towards the end though, I felt that there was still a huge time gap between this movie and the first film. I think they could have possibly made this movie a bit longer or they could even turn out another prequel. In the end I was still a very satisfied fan and would recommend anyone who is interested in vamp movies to go see this one.

Waiting . . .

So I ordered this on the 15th and like a dumb ass, I selected “SuperSaver” shipping from Amazon.com and now it’s taking forever! I am hoping that it will be here today because Amazon says its in Ames. Ugh! This sucks . . .

update: I just got it ! YAY!

Hope For The Future . . .

I remember taking this photo in September of 2007, back when Hillary was still ahead. I thought to myself . . . “This guy has no shot,”. A year later when he defeated Hillary in the primaries and won the democratic nomination and I still thought . . . “maybe”. Then, a couple months later, I found myself rooting for him to win the election and he DID! On Tuesday, I saw this man take the Oath of Office to be the 44th President of the United States and I couldn’t help but feel hopeful for the future. Hope that things will change for the better.

P.S. I know I am two days late but whatever. . .

Won’t You Be Mine . . .

This weekend started off right by watching “My Bloody Valentine 3D” with two of my closest friends :D We had to travel to Des Moines to see it in RealD, so we thought we would make the best of it and treat ourselves to a delicious dinner before showtime. We ate at one of my favorite restaurants, Cheesecake Factory.

After we stuffed ourselves, we waddled our happy asses over to the movie theater and got comfortable. I had gotten word from Trent over at pinkisthenewblog that this was an awesome experience and that it was actually a good movie, so I had big expectations. As soon as I slipped on my 3D glasses, I knew I was going to love this movie.

In short, the movie was good but I am not going to lie and say that I haven’t seen this movie before. Think of it as a mix between Halloween, Friday the 13th and Secret Window. What really makes this movie stand out among the many other slasher films is that it is in 3D. I strongly recommend watching this movie in a theater supports RealD projection.

I enjoyed it and I know my friends did too. Just the whole 3D thing was awesome since I haven’t seen RealD since I was 14 in Bush Gardens. My advise to all of you would be to go out with some of your friends and watch this movie because chances are you will have a lot of fun.

Just something funny. . .

So its Wednesday and there isn’t much going on so I decided to go youtube and watch funny videos. I enjoy watching reaction videos and after seeing this one just had to post it :D

Now, I would not recommend watching the video they are watching in the reaction video because it is disgusting. . . REALLY disgusting. O well enjoy the video. I did.
